The song comes from the movie "Oi apachides ton Athinon", which is based on the operetta of the same name which was set to music by Nikos Chatziapostolou (1884-1941) and the libretto was written by Giannis Prineas (1882-1963).
The operetta (see here) premiered on August 19, 1921 at the "Alhambra" theater by the Fotis Samartzis troupe, and the silent film of the same name directed by Dimitris Gaziadis was shot in 1930.
The song "Ti matia", whose musical score was published by the Mich. Konstantinidis publishing house, was not included in the operetta and was written specifically for the needs of the movie.
