Panagiotis Kounadis notes on the recording (2010, 3: 58):

"It is one of the first rebetiko songs to be created by the immigrants in America. It is a clever and humorous recording of what one could encounter in the various US States where there were strong Greek communities.
The song was first performed by Epameinondas Asimakopoulos with minor differences in the lyrics and under the title "To west".
There is obviously a typo on the label of this second version ("To toust").
It was re-released in discography by the Armenian singer Marko Melkon Alemsherian after the Second World War under the title "Sacramento, Boston, New York".
Giorgos Katsaros (Theologitis) sang a similar song, both as far as music and lyrics are concerned, which, as he himself said, he had written at the beginning of his career in America in the 1910s.

Soleki (Salt Lake City): city in the State of Utah
Butte: city in the State of Montana.
South: he is referring to the area of Florida, in the Gulf of Mexico, where there is the a Greek village founded by sponge divers, Tarpon Springs. Giorgos Katsaros lived there from the beginning of the 1960s.
Tsentzi (chance): opportunity.
Sentsi (cent): US coin, a division of the dollar equal to one hundredth of the currency unit".
