I fylaki einai scholeio

Part of the content is temporarily available only in Greek

The song is one of the recordings made in Athens, in 1931, by Tetos Dimitriadis, as a producer and in some of them as a singer, on behalf of the American record label RCA Victor. The cycle of these recordings took place between May 11 and June 14, 1931, and the records were released in America under the labels of Victor, Orthophonic and later some of them under the label of RCA Victor.
The recordings were made by a crew of the record label "The Gramophone Co Ltd" led by sound engineer
Arthur Douglas Lawrence.
Aristomenis Kalyviotis mentions the following (
2019: 99): "[...] 'Victor' [...] did not have the right to do business in Europe and the Middle East [...]. So, when the need to release a new repertoire in Greek (for the American market) arose, and because they could not send their own recording crew to Greece, they sometimes used a recording crew and sound engineers of their "sister" company, that is, 'The Gramophone Co Ltd'. Thus, when the latter was recording songs in Athens for their own needs, sometimes they also recorded on behalf of 'Victor'."
